Alexei Fedorchenko, a documentaries’ director, has created the first true Russian docu-drama. He plays with his facts while scrupulously considering things that never were, never happened, never existed. His so very convincing argument puts under doubt the director’s own existence. Could it be, that the person responsible for the film’s production is hiding under the pen-name of “Alexei Fedorchenko”; sending somebody else to pose as the Ekaterinburg documentaries’ director at movie festivals? Hopefully, the next film by this baffling director will provide a direct and clarifying answer to this question.
